Diversity Of Food In Malaysia

Hye U Ollz

Last week, I had Hubungan Etnik class. The last chapter that we learned was "Pengalaman Harian : Menjalin Kesepaduan dan Melahirkan Keharmonian". The contents of this chapter are, how does the diversity of daily experiences of Malaysian can unite multi-ethnics.There are 3 elements that contribute the integration and harmony among Malaysian which are :

1. Food         2. Arts       3. Media

Now, I want to review 1 of these elements which is Food. Why food? Because I like to eat..:D
Malaysia is rich of foods. All kind of foods from multi-ethnic(Malay,Chinese, Indian,Sabahan/Sarawakian) can be found here. Multi-ethnic that we have from past until now, has formed the diversity of food in daily experiences. In tourism, the Malaysia foods has brought to international an well knows as "Malaysian Cuisine".Daily experience in food aspects can integrate the multi-ethnic by popular foods that belongs to other ethnics. For example, Malay like to eat roti canai. Chinese like to eat Nasi Lemak and Indian like to eat pau.

Nasi Lemak on past, just served during on breakfast. But now, Nasi Lemak can be found  all time. Also before this, it was was served at home only but now, its can be found at exclusive places like hotel, restaurants until street stall. In this context, Nasi Lemak has changed the stereotype that Nasi Lemak is belong to Malay, otherwise it has belong to Malaysian.

D Segment Car Comparison In Malaysia

Hye U Ollz...

Before we start, lets me introduce what is D-segment car? D-segment car is a large family car or compact executive car. Normally, D-segment cars is start from 2.0 liter engine capacity and above. In Malaysia, we have many D-segment cars on road like Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Teana, Proton Perdana, BMW 3/5 series, Merc E Class, and much more. It just a few names mentioned because in Malaysia market, customers have many choices of D-segment cars from Japanese,Continental and now rising on attention, K-Pop car..(Korean)..

While I searching on Youtube, I found a interesting video from Paultan channel (Driven). FYI, Paultan is a motoring journalist based in Malaysia and he is very best known for his website, http://paultan.org/.
The video is about Toyota Camry 2.5 vs Honda Accord 2.4 vs Mazda6 2.5. As we know, Toyota Camry and Honda Accord are very famous in D-Segment in Malaysia. But I don't know why Nissan Teana is not listed in this comparison. But upcoming new Nissan Teana, at http://paultan.org/2014/05/16/2014-nissan-teana-l33-display-malls/...

Toyota Camry and Honda Accord are no need to introduce more. These models are well known among Malaysian. But new comes in this competition, Mazda6. Can Mazda6 can compete with "otai" Camry & Accord?? Lets see the video, reviewed by Driven Team...

Honda

Picture 1: Motto for Honda

Honda Motor Co. Ltd. is a multinational corporation for Japanese primarily known as a
manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles since 1959. Today i will post about the founder
of one of the world's mightiest motor corporations. Meet Mr. Soichiro Honda. He was born in
Hamamatsu, Japan in 1906. His father owned a blacksmith's shop and repaired bicycles as a
sideline at that time. When he as a teenager, Soichiro Honda was practiced and apprenticed
to a car repair shop in Tokyo, but his business was slack as there were few cars in the city
at that time. However, this changed after the devastation of the 1923 earthquake. The
Japanese government decided to invest in mechanised mass transit and so lucky Mr. Honda saw
at that opportunity when he realised his services in heavy demand.

Partnering for Success.
His partner, Mr. Takeo Fujisawa looked after the commercial side of  the new enterprise
leaving Mr. Honda free to design and test. They worked out of a tiny rented factory, often
going for months without engaging in serious business discussions, each having total faith
in the other's ability to handle his own domain. They worked like this for almost four
decades, even when the Honda company had established itself as a major multi-national
business. After work hard for seek successfull both of them made decision to retire from
active participation in the company in 1973.

Picture 2: With his partner

A New Beginning
Not one to give up, Mr. Honda then studied metallurgy, and started a business producing
engine parts. After the devastation of World War 2, Mr Honda revived his business by fitting
was surplus engines to bicycles. The intuitive and innovative former mechanic focused on
designing and manufacturing products which appealed to him, starting with motorcycles. In
1948, the company which was to become a global giant-took root as Japan's post-war economy
took its first bold steps towards expansion.

Picture 2: Mr Soichiro Honda

Spirit of Innovation
During this relatively prosperous time, Soichiro Honda embarked on a number of his own
projects, displaying an exceptional gift in technical innovation. He even hand-built racing
cars which notched up a string of victories on the Japanese circuit.
Founding his own business in the 1930s, Soichiro Honda tested his talents behind the wheel
of a racing car, but an accident effectively ended his career as a competitive driver.

Happy Teacher's Day

It is a special day for the appreciation of teachers, and may include celebrations to honour them for their special contributions in a particular field area.

Each countries may celebrate it on different date. In Malaysia, we celebrate Teacher's Day on 16th May.

[Wikipedia] This date was chosen because on the same day in 1956, the Federal Legislative Council of the Federation of Malaya endorsed the Razak Report, one of four reports of the Education Committee regarding education in Malaysia. The document, known as the Razak Report after Tun Abdul Razak who was Education Minister at the time, has been the basis of education in Malaysia ever since. Although it is not an official school holiday, celebrations are usually held on May 16, or earlier, if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday.

16th May 2014
PM Najib by his official Twitter (He tweeted 3 tweets)

1. "Every year on May 16, Teachers’ Day will be celebrated across the country to honour the sacrifices made by teachers for their hard work to educate our children and motivate them to become excellent in any of their chosen fields.

2. Indeed, duties and responsibilities undertaken by teachers are full of challenges. The burden rests on their shoulders in producing students who are knowledgeable and competent, who are ready to inherit the struggle and contribute to the national development. We are grateful to all the deserving teachers, who have sacrifice their time and energy and never tired to carry out their responsibilities.

3. On my behalf, and all Malaysians, Happy Teachers’ Day to all of you, educators, for your invaluable contributions, for the sake of the nation prosperity. Thank you, Teacher."

As for me,
I would like to wish every teachers a happy teacher's day, especially to my ex teachers from:

World without Smartphone???

Assalamualaikum and Hye!!!

Do you ever thought in your life the world without smartphone, facebook,
twitter, instagram ,Whatsapp, We Chat and etc???

Have it ever cross your mind that we are now so depending on those technology. We might have become a living zombie of those technology. Have you ever try a one whole day without smart phone ,Internet , facebook or twitter or similar to that?
I bet you might succeed it however it gonna be a tough fight along the way.

Nowadays, almost 90% of our life spend on our smart phone. From the time you wake up until the time you want to sleep still with the smart phone in your hand. Dinner with family also become dull and not special anymore. There are no more laughter, joyful, emotion while hearing our little brother sister telling a story.
Everyone busy chatting online rather chatting face to face with family member. It also make us much passive when meeting in real world.

Some might think that without those technology will make us our life become dull and boring.
Yes, undeniable that those technology bring us benefit, knowledge
news around the world in just one click only.
But there were more interesting things the world outsides of the cyber world. We don't know what we miss because we were too busy with our gadget or smartphone.

I'm not saying that we should abandon all of those technology.
Technology means we are evolving from yesterday.
However, we also should not abandon the real world. We need to find the correct balance between
technology and our real life in order to make a perfect life of our own.

Live a healthy lifestyle!!

Happy Teacher's Day!!

Assalamualaikum and Hye!!!

Today is a Teacher's day for all teachers around the world. It is a very special days for them coming only once a year. Besides our parents, the next important person that influence so much in our life is a teacher. They thought us a very valuable things that we might not get from neither Google nor Youtube.

Their willingness to sacrifice money, sharing knowledge of theirs for the sake of the future. We may loath them, dislike them, and some hate to them. But teachers?? Totally ignore those feelings just for their students.

They teach each of us equally without any prejudice or discrimination. Their main and only intention was to fill us with knowledges in to make us ready to face the real world besides making us human that we are today.

My warmest gratitude for all the teachers especially in :
SEKOLAH RENDAH KEBANGSAAN SUNGAI ARA
SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEBANGSAAN SUNGAI ARA
INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI PERAK
UNIVERSITI TUN HUSSEIN ONN

and everyone who have experience teaching me something along the journey.

For scolding, punishing, and teaching me life and make me who I am today.

THANKS AGAIN and HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!!!

Besides clashing elbow, other issues about being lefties is my hand tend to becomes dirty after writing especially write with pencils.

There are several more issues face after that. I now know that I'm not the only person that face the same problem. Almost all the lefties around the world facing the same problem as me.

4. Lefties likely to pursue a creative careers than right handed.
5. Men are more likely to be left-handers

Yes, I'm left-handed and I'm proud of it..

Non- verbal universal cues Middle east (Arab Saudi & Iran)

üProcess of communication through sending and receiving wordless(mostly visual) cues between people.

üCan be communicated through gestures and touch, body language or posture, facial expression and eye contact .

SAUDI ARABIA
         •FACIAL EXPRESSION
Ø Arabic cultures shows grief and sadness while most            American men hides them.
Ø Too much smiling is a sign of shallowness.

GESTURE
Ø Most Arabs shake hands every time they meet you  and every time they leave you.
Ø Pointing your finger at anyone while speaking, or calls anyone with your finger. It is considered a threat, and only animals are treated in this manner.
Ø In the Arab world, if the “OK” sign is shaken at  another person it symbolizes the sign of the evil  eye. An Arab may use the sign in conjunction with  verbal curses.
Ø One or both hands held at chest height, palms  open and facing out, has the meaning, “it’s not my  responsibility”

IRAN
GREETINGS
Ø one should never give a thumbs up as it is interpreted as  being aggressive.
Ø impolite body language to turn one’s back to another  person and one should apologize if it happens.
Ø bowing as a greeting is slight and involves placing the  right hand on the chest as one bows.
Ø In everyday communication Iranians also observe a code  of politeness known as taarof. if one is offered a gift, for  example, then one might at first refuse indicating that  such as gesture of kindness is undeserved, but their  light refusal does not mean they are not accepting the  gift, rather they are being modest.

GESTURES
Ø Pointing directly at someone is definitely not  okay, particularly at strangers
Ø one should never give a thumbs up as it is interpreted as being aggressive
Ø polite gestures which are acceptable, for example, the “come over here” gesture which is done by waving the hand palm down with your four fingers (no thumb) is common.

Correct Postures

Assalamualaikum and Hye!!!

Last week, during playing games with my friends suddenly after a few hours I felt some pain coming from my back and on my neck. I immediately lie down to reduce the pain. After that I told my friend regarding the pain that often get during playing games. He told me that my seating posture was wrong for a heavy computer user.

Then he told me a few tips to repair my postures while in front of the computer:-
- Choosing a correct monitor position => As it will prevent you from straining your neck from leaning forward.

- Choose the correct chair => The correct ergonomic chair will help to reduce muscle strain for a long time period.

- Decide your best seating position => So it will give you comfort for your back rather than strain.

- Do not cross your leg => As it will stop the blood circulation to the legs.

Hope after this it will reduce the pain during seating in front of computer... Chill
