Diversity Of Food In Malaysia

Last week, I had Hubungan Etnik class. The last chapter that we learned was "Pengalaman Harian : Menjalin Kesepaduan dan Melahirkan Keharmonian". The contents of this chapter are, how does the diversity of daily experiences of Malaysian can unite multi-ethnics.There are 3 elements that contribute the integration and harmony among Malaysian which are :

1. Food         2. Arts       3. Media  

Now, I want to review 1 of these elements which is Food. Why food? Because I like to eat..:D
Malaysia is rich of foods. All kind of foods from multi-ethnic(Malay,Chinese, Indian,Sabahan/Sarawakian) can be found here. Multi-ethnic that we have from past until now, has formed the diversity of food in daily experiences.In tourism, the Malaysia foods has brought to international an well knows as "Malaysian Cuisine".Daily experience in food aspects can integrate the multi-ethnic by popular foods that belongs to other ethnics. For example, Malay like to eat roti canai. Chinese like to eat Nasi Lemak and Indian like to eat pau.


Nasi Lemak on past, just served during on breakfast. But now, Nasi Lemak can be found  all time. Also before this, it was was served at home only but now, its can be found at exclusive places like hotel, restaurants until street stall. In this context, Nasi Lemak has changed the stereotype that Nasi Lemak is belong to Malay, otherwise it has belong to Malaysian.
