Some briefly information about him, shared via Wikipedia.com
Wong Ka Kui (10 June 1962 – 30 June 1993) was a Hong Kong singer-songwriter. He was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and the founder member of the Hong Kong rock band Beyond. He composed more than ninety percent of the songs for Beyond and wrote a few award-winning lyrics.
While filming a gameshow for Fuji Television in Tokyo, Japan on June 24, 1993, Wong Ka Kui fell off a three-meter platform head first, and died three days later from head injuries.
DO YOU KNOW WONG KA KUI?
I’m sure it’s hard for readers to recall who actually Wong Ka Kui was. Perhaps, I shall embed a signature song from Beyond, in order to help readers.
Vast Sky & Boundless Sea, a song written by Wong, pursues youth about dream and never gives up. This song became a controversy because of a line in the lyric of “Someday I might fall”. Wong died a year after this song published because of the same reason.
Another significant song from Beyond is Glorious Years. This song is written by Wong, is about racism and the struggle of Nelson Mandela in South Africa. This song recently received a hit come-back after the death of Mr. Nelson.
Without Wong, the band seems unable to produce those music and lyric anymore. This legendary band disbanded, back to 2005.
