1) Stop Bribing Them
Rewards definitely work.
The rewards just motivate people to get rewards.
When the rewards go away, people stop.
2) Make Them Feel Something
People sometimes will be motivated by revenge, jealousy, fear, passion.....
And yet, they're all powerful motivators.
So, you must change individual behavior by addressing employee feelings.
3) Emphasize Progress
Nothing is more motivating than progress.
Progress is powerful. Encourage people to reflect on how far they've come and the good work they've done.
4) From A Cult (Well, Almost)
Not literally.No funky robes or animal sacrifices necessary. But what else unites a cult? Shared belief. A story.
