Still remember Allahyarham Sudirman Hj Arshad?? He was a Malaysia famous singer in 80s .His songs still playing until now on local radio stations. His contribution has left impact to our local music industry. He always remembered and favoured until now . He was not just singer but also songwriter. He also one of the most popular figures in the history of the music industry and very close to Malaysian.Sudirman was born on 25 May 1954 at Temerlong,Pahang. For your information, Temerloh is a ikan patin city centre where it is famous with ikan patin masak tempoyak..Ok..we left the story about ikan patin and back to the topic..:D Sudirman has degree in Law from Universiti Malaysia in 1980 and was certified to be a lawyer in 1984.But, with his interest in the field of singing then he left the lawyer carrier and choose art field as his carrier.

 He had started his career after winning the "Bintang RTM" on 11 August 1976. At that time, he showed and proved his talent. In 15 April 1986, Sudirman established its name in the Malaysian Book of Records once because he successful held a free giant concert at Jalan Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. At that time, nearly hundred thousand peoples watched his concert. Because of its big talented in singing and perform at stage, he was awarded Asia's No 1 Performer in 1989. That’s why he was known by many as "Malaysia's No 1 Entertainer". Besides singing and writing, Sudirman also acted in a film called “Kami”, which was released in 1982. This movie was very touched. It’s showed the best friend relationship value as the movie theme. 

 

 

His songs just mention  a few, Merisik Khabar,Tanggal 31 Ogos,Terasing,Pelangi Petang,Hujan,Milik Siapakah Gadis Ini,Chow Kit Road, and so on have the "own value" and "soul”. The songs have the story behind the lyrics and sentimental value. Even almost his songs based on love, but his songs also have the patriotic value.For example, "Tanggal 31 Ogos, it has patriotic value and encourage citizen to love Malaysia.Every 31 August, we can hear this song right?? “Dari Jauh Ku Pohon Maaf”…Every Hari Raya Aidilfitri we can listen this song. Very touch and has depth of messages. For me, all his songs has their own values…As a listener, we can feel that songs are “very close” to us when listening the song.

It has been 22 years since Allahyarham Sudirman Hj. Arshad passed away on 22 February 1992.He left to us the memories and his talent. He was a legend and performer to u after Allahyarham Tan Sri P.  Ramlee.
